We were to Pidhirtzi last weekend, gathered birch bark for the tar making. There were several old birches lying down near the Geonaut cave - wood was all rotten, but bark was strong and looked good, it burned with crackle and sooting. We took a place along the trunk and took the bark, using sharp infantry showel and a blunt folding knife - big pack of bark for future experiments

We spent today walking in the pine forest, gathering berries, mostly blackberries, raspberries and rowans (it was too green for gathering it).  We found foresgt nuts (still green too). There was a lake behind the forest, it was good for swimmming in a rubber boat and watching bird on the lake banks and in the reed thicket. We filmed some video about fatwood and pine glue, I guess, we can work on it in future.

P.S. And yeah, we saw a fisher-cat, big cat who was fishing on the river bank
